 Operations - Jim Smith Contracting's most valuable resource is its employees. The earthwork and paving crews are comprised of union laborers and operators from local halls. We have very little turn over which enables us to keep crews together year after year for optimal production.
Jim Smith Contracting has been in the construction business since 1959. Throughout the years, Jim Smith Contracting has maintained a highly skilled and experienced workforce. Our superintendents and foremen have overseen projects as small as clearing lots for houses to building multi-million dollar interstates and highways.
Our crews are comprised of men and women that are highly experienced in their fields of choice and have been trained in all types of machinery and building techniques.
The construction business in Western Kentucky is seasonal. Our relationships with our employees enable us to keep nearly 100% of our workforce over the winter months. We have experienced very little turnover and this fact helps keep our production up and our costs low.
Our workforce believes in doing the job right the first time and still knows what the word 'craftsmanship' means.
