Porous Asphalts - Many projects require that surface water be drained to ditches, detention ponds, culvert boxes, or pipes. This requires additional design cost, material cost in pipe and concrete structures, additional acreage for ponds and having to slope the parking lot in several directions to make it drain. With the arrival of this new technology, you can place a stone base with a small drainage system and pave over it with porous asphalts. These mixes allow water to pass through them and drain into the stone base. This stone base then acts as a detention pond and can be designed according to your needs. Porous asphalt has another advantage in that water will not collect on the surface. If you would like to discuss if porous asphalts are right for your job, please contact us at 1 (270) 362-8661.
